INTERESTING

The name of the place translated „Spring of Zeno” originally “Fonte di Feno” comes from the history of this place and is partly due to the nature, with its abundance of water and partly to the man, who already 400 – 500 AD. cultured hay (Feno) In the course of the centuries and the writing of the new land register, the word FENO was erroneously transferred to ZENO and now still remains.

It is said that this valley was so rich in water that in 1814 Napoleon the Great drank of this water, on the way to Madonna del Monte, where the Emperor militarily communicated with Corsica.

We also know that there was an iron processing facility in remote times, in the face of the discovery of metal processing waste.

Our property was inhabited until 1953 when the owners of the time decided to emigrate to the USA and nature took over the property until our takeover in 2000.

The choice of the farmhouse Fonte di Zeno is therefore a sign of the great respect for the historical times, to the place where the union between man and nature, which has always enlivened him, keep alive.
